How to set up Dazzle DVC 100

if you have read my previous blogs about how to record game play and you ended up buying a Dazzle you most likely do not know how to set it up...  the recorder will come with the recording device, and installation disk.  so to hook it up to your counsel you will need two things.  first, you will need a AV extension cord with both sides being male.  this will run you about 15 dollars.  next you will need three AV splitters with two sides female and the one side male. all three will cost about 15 dollars too.  take you recorder and plug it into your computer, put the three splitters and put the counsels yellow cord with the extensions yellow cord and put that combo into the recorders yellow slot, do the same with the red and white cords too.  plug your AV extension into your TV's corresponding slots and do the same with your counsels other end.  now that you have it all hooked up you can record!  here is a little diagram as to what it should look like...

(councel)----

                             ------
                                       (recorder)------------(computer)

how to record video games

hey guys, so you are playing black ops and you get a awesome game play on Nuke town, you went 47-1.  and you want to post it on YouTube so your friends can watch it.  you record it with your phone and it looks like crap, so you pull out your good recorder and it still does not look that good?  you can ether, buy a HD pvr or a Dazzle.  the HD pvr will run you from $150 to $1000 depending on which one you buy.  if you don't have that much money you can look into the Dazzle.  this will cost you anywhere from $40 to $140 depending on which one you get and where you buy it.  so you may wonder why would you spend that much money for an HD pvr? when you could get a simple Dazzle that would do basically the same job?  well the HD pvr will shoot in 1080i and have amazing HD quality...  while the Dazzle (with the right program and settings) will shot standard definition that is not all that bad.  if you are going to make more than 100 videos i would suggest the HD pvr because you will eventually end up buying it anyway...  but if you are only looking to make a few videos just go with the Dazzle.  because it will get the job that you want it to do done.  also if you are planing on making any montages with your recorder you will probably want to buy a good editing program.  anything really will do the job but i prefer the Sony Vegas pro series because it has basic and higher end editing FX and tools.  if you go the cheap way you can set yourself up for around $100 dollars but can spend up to $10,000 depending on your editing programs!   now you have that video, how do you upload it to YouTube you may ask?  check out my
"how to upload videos to YouTube" video that gives a simple and in depth tutorial on how to upload any video to YouTube.

how to upload video to Youtube

so you take that video on your camera of you doing a back flip on your bike.  now what? show your friends and family? or you could share it with the world and make a viral video!  so you have your back flip video right, take your USB cord and connect your camera to your computer putting the USB cord in the correct spots.  what should happen is a notification that your camera has been connected will appear.  click the "import pictures and media".  while the video is importing name the video "YouTube back flip video" once you have successfully  imported you YouTube back flip video to your computer fire up your internet and open up YouTube.  if you already have an account sign in.  but if you do not have an account register.  registering only takes about 2 min and only requires you to have an email.  so now that you are on your account you will see to the right of the search bar a button that says "upload".  click this button and at the next screen click "upload video".  by clicking this you will open up your documents.  remember where you imported your YouTube back flip video to and locate it.  open it by clicking on it and that will start your upload!  Yay you are done you have uploaded your first video to YouTube!!!  but wait, why am I only getting 13 views on my video???  to make your video easy to find you need to edit the information on your video.  to do this you are going to hover over your name in the upper right hand corner and you will see a group of things drop down.  click the "my videos"  once you are here you are going to want to click edit video under you YouTube back flip video.  once there you will want to insert a description describing you video and some tags to help people find your video.  a good example of some tags would be "awesome bike back flip"  and add any more tags that you think would help people locate your video.  and remember to have a good title that people will click.  hope i helped you have fun YouTubers!
